1245 H Street NE, Washington, D.C. 20002
Friday, October 12, 2018
6:00pm – 11:00 PM
We here at Chris Cardi Inc. are excited to announce H Street Eve Pop-Up Part Deux! We're partnering once again with H St. NE Corridor's favorite neighborhood bistro, Smith Commons Public House, for our new date Friday, October 12, the evening before H Street Festival.
H Street Eve came about in 2017 when D.C. based designer Chris Cardi decided to create and showcase a capsule collection of H Street N.E. centric apparel. As a resident of the neighborhood for the last 7 years he wanted to fill the void and provide a product his fellow neighbors could wear to show their shared love of the place they call home. The event has evolved to serve as a night of camaraderie + creativity + culture + community gathering residents and friends from all over the city in a sublime celebration the night before the big H Street Festival.
As many of us already know, this year's H Street Festival had to be rescheduled due to the threat of Hurricane Florence. For the first time the festival will take place in Mid-October to celebrate the arts as an economic vehicle for growth in this vibrant Washington, D.C. Northeast community. Despite the threat of the hurricane, Chris Cardi Inc. kept the original H Street Eve date which turned out to be a festive evening with many items selling out quickly. This has presented Chris Cardi Inc. with a unique opportunity to serve the community with the H Street Eve Pop Up for a second time this year.
Join us, as well as other DC creatives, tastemakers, influencers, and neighbors Friday, October 12th, at Smith Commons from 6 P.M. to 11 P.M. on the 2nd level, to shop the H Street pop-up collection while enjoying drinks, dining, good people and a great time. The pop-up will feature an assortment of Chris Cardi Inc.'s H Street themed capsule collection including t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, totes, accessories and much more.
"Part Deux" of the celebration returns with a photo exhibit by featured photographer Lawrence Jackson along with vintage streetwear purveyor and stylist Shareef Mohammed.
Lawrence Jackson (The Vintographer) of The Vintage Vandalism, Chicago native and D.C. resident, will be showcasing an amazing photography installment of his newest project titled "L'Union à Motifs" (The Patterned Union). The Vintographer, whose work has been featured by Afro Punk in 2015 and 2016, will also host a Q&A session about the exhibit for early RSVPs the first hour of the event.
Shareef Mohammed of Trezo Beach will showcase a special collaborative collection of one off vintage finds customized by Chris Cardi featuring various H Street themed graphics, prints, appliqués and patches. These rare pieces are sure to sell out early.
Come get stylish for the festival and join us for a night of great fun. We hope to see you there!
